Anyone can Mount an LCD TV
Nov 30th, 2009 | By Romantic-Guru | Category: UncategorizedThe most obvious benefit of mounting a flat panel TV in your lounge is that it saves some space and more specifically the lack of requirement for a TV stand will free up some floor space. The most important thing that you should keep in mind when mounting your TV is to pay attention to the details. When choosing LCD TV brackets remember that a fixed mount is the easiest to install however if you need to add new devices you will need to remove the television every time you want to plug in a new device.A tilt mount will make it much easier to add devices and will also add more depth.
Start by deciding where on your wall you wish to position your LCD TV screen and then measure the distance between the screw holes vertically on the mount. You should then go and mark the location of the studs with a sharp pencil. The height at which you position your mount is entirely your decision. Most LCD TV mounts are hung at eye level to the centre line however some may prefer mounting a tilted mount slightly higher than eye level.
Next you will then need to mark the desired height of the wall bracket with another pencil mark so that you will know where each screw will be placed. It is essential that you use a spirit level at this stage so that you won’t be hanging the mount at an angle. As with any DIY job you should measure at least twice to ensure accuracy.
Make sure that you drill the heavy gauge screws only part way into your wall. These kind of heavy duty screws will help handle the weight of the mount as well as the LCD TV.Before you tighten up all the screws and hang the mount check once more that they are all perfectly level.
Don't hang up the TV on the mount until you have plugged the cables in the TV.It's a safe idea to have another person come to help you hang it as they tend to be quite heavy. If your Television requires more assembly before hanging it up then refer to the instructions that came with it.
